USDA issues health alert about beef product sold at Aldi

A health alert has been issued after clear plastic material was found in beef processed by the Cargill corporation and sold by Aldi stores nationwide.

The U.S. Department of Agriculture Food Safety and Inspection Services issued the alert about beef produced on July 25.

The food product is labeled as “USDA Choice Black Angus Beef from Aldi, beef for carne picada,” with a use or freeze-by date of Aug. 22, 2023, and with a time stamp of between 8:43 and 9:23.
